On April 24th the International MCS Network Secretariat attended the Satellite Applications Catapult IUU Workshop in Harlow, England. The primary purpose of the meeting was to see how spare satellite capacity can be used for fisheries, and what would be useful MCS applications. Further discussions included the provision of real time identified or validated fisheries targets, provision of images or data positively identifying fishing vessels and where possible, their activities, and the development of analytic tools for analyzing and corroborating historical and real time data. For more information on the workshop, click here.
