Abstract
This report is the first attempt made to quantify the volume, species composition and value of IUU fishing in Pacific tuna fisheries specifically. The authors aimed to quantify the level of IUU fishing associated with 11 main risks across four risk categories: (i) unlicensed/unauthorised fishing, (ii) misreporting, (iii) non-compliance with other license conditions (e.g. FAD fishing during the purse seine closure period) and (iv) post-harvest risks (e.g. illegal transhipping).
